國立中山大學中文系自1989年起,每兩年固定舉辦一次全國性之「清代學術研討會」,續辦六屆之後,為拓展自主性及擴大影響力,2000年乃在文學院籌設「清代學術研究中心」,與國際展開交流與合作。至今已經舉辦九次大會,其中四次為國際會議規模,早已成為國際漢學界知名的學術研討會。本學年擬訂於200966-7日舉辦第五屆國際規模的大會;基於已有之績效與基礎之下,本次會議兼具繼承與創新,其水準與成效必有可觀。

本屆會議所使用語言為:華語與英語並行。會議以雙語發表形式,在國內中文學門中較為少見,但實更能落實國際會議的實質內容與成效。因此,本籌備會以中英文邀請函與徵稿啟事,廣向國內外公開徵稿結果,邀得國外學者較往年為多。西方國家也有多國與會,如美、加拿大、澳大利亞、英、烏克蘭等國,後三者於中文學門的國際會議中尤為罕見,實屬難得。國外學者來自四大洲、九國家,將蒞臨本校,相與論學,盛況可期。因此本會議之促進國內外漢學界近現代學術文化的交流,肯定有顯著的成績,可以為我國學術界樹立一新的里程碑。

本屆會議與前幾屆不同之處更在於訂定會議主題。本屆會議主題設為:「文化越界」。蓋自有清以來,「文化越界」現象日漸頻繁:傳統文化與現代文化、華夏文化與域外文化,處處產生對話和交流。學術文化不再是單向發展,而是複雜的生成網絡。文化間的越界促使我們對所認同的文化進行思索,並正視差異的存在。在單一和多元,自我與他者,個人與世界的對話中,近現代學術的辯證與交融具有更深廣視域,華夏文化的生命與能量也益見更新。會議相關子題如下:1.華夏與域外的文化交流。2.族群交錯的文化現象。3.西學東漸與漢學西傳。4.東亞文化圈的交流。5.思想、語言、文學、藝術等學科的跨界現象。6.其他。

    本次會議之學術定位在於促成傳統漢學研究與新興文化研究的跨領域整合,並推動漢學與文化研究的理論建構。其積極性在於突破傳統漢學過於保守隔絕的困境,包容了實證考據與文本分析的舊學,更以跨領域合作、知識實踐以及批判反省的特質,直接面對華夏文化與全球域外文化的交流及越界等問題,分析各種文化越界現象的意義結構、權力動能、意識形態與社會歷史脈絡,並回應當前學術界所關注之政治、倫理與美學議題。因此,本屆清代學術研討會,是結合傳統漢學與新興文化研究,以具有批判思考而整合人文社會學科的取向,切入傳統中國文化的研究範疇,展開創新知識型態的學術會議。

  


 

National Conference on Ch’ing Dynasty Studies has been held biannually by the Department of Chinese Literature at National Sun Yat-sen University since 1989.For the purposes of upholding its independence and exercising its academic influence, the Center of Ch’ing Dynasty Studies was established to promote international academic exchanges and cooperation in 2000. The Conference has been held for nine times including 4 international Conferences and become one of the most important Conferences on Chinese Studies. The 5th international Conference will take place on June 6 and 7, 2009. The Conference which gives consideration to both tradition and creativeness will accelerate academic exchanges and provide networking opportunities for all levels of professionals on Chinese Studies.

 

   The working languages of the Conference are Mandarin and English. Oral talks and the paper will be presented in either Mandarin or English. The intention of the Conference is to bring together international group of scholars from different countries such as America, Canada, Australia, England, Ukraine and etc. with academic and professional interest in Pre-modern Chinese Studies to strengthen cultural exchanges and academic ties and create a new milestone for the scholars in Taiwan.

 

   Phenomena of cultural transgression have become frequently since Ch’ing Dynasty. There have been many interactions between traditional and modern culture, Chinese and Western culture. These interactions have intrigued many interesting cultural issues. The theme of the Conference is Cultural Transgression in the context of cultural identity and cultural difference, a theme related to the high currency of today’s scholarship. Interlocutions between single and multi-culture, self and others, individual and the world are encouraged: the Conference is intended to offer a forum for discussions on topics such as the interaction of traditional and modern Chinese literature and culture during Ch’ing Dynasty period.

       Relevant issues are listed as follows:

   1). Exchange between Chinese and Suburban Culture

   2). Cultural Phenomena of Ethnic Interaction

   3). Western and Eastern Literature Exchange

   4). Exchange of Inner East Asian Cultures

   5). Cultural Transgression in Thoughts, Languages, Literatures, Arts and etc.

   6). Other related issues

 

   The Conference concentrates on the integration between Traditional Chinese Studies and Emergent Cultural Studies and developing theoretical construction in Chinese Studies and Cultural Studies. The goals of the Conference are: (1) to enhance trans-disciplinary integration and encourage research projects on Chinese Studies with innovative perspectives through interdisciplinary subjects; (2) to reflect the situations and the relationships among Globalization, Local Cultures, and Transgression; (3) to analyze the meaning and the construction of Cultural Transgression, the Dynamics of Power, Ideology, and Historical Context, (4) and to bring about discussions related to Politics, Ethics, and Esthetics. According to the goals described above, the upcoming Conference which combines Traditional Chinese Studies and Emergent Cultural Studies from Humanities and Social Studies will create new forms of knowledge in the field of Chinese Studies.
