§÷¥ú¨t§f¼w(Johann Lüder)±M¥ô§U²z±Ð±Â


Dr. Johann Luder is an assistant professor at the Department of Materials and Optoelectronic Science at National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU) in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, since 2018. Before joining NSYSU, he was a research fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests were the atomistic modeling and understanding of advanced functional materials for chemical energy storage, for which he employed and developed state-of-the-art computational ab initio methods. Johann received his Ph.D. from Uppsala University (UU), Sweden. At UU, he specialized in theoretical X-ray and optical spectroscopy of small organic and metal-organic molecules in different chemical environments such as in gas phase and on substrates to explore their potential for technological applications for, e.g., solar energy harvesting, molecular electronics and sensors. During his undergraduate studies at Free University in Berlin, Germany, he worked with LIDAR systems and evolutionary optimization algorithms.

Currently, he investigates machine learning approaches to advance computational material science methods, including theoretical X-ray spectroscopy and other first-principles methods, as well as molecular-based design strategies to increase the energy storage performance of organic electrodes in multivalent batteries.

§÷¥ú¨t°Ò«¢­}(Ahmed Fikry Mohamed Elmahdy Ahmed)±M¥ô§U²z±Ð±Â


Dr. Ahmed EL-Mahdy received his B.S. and Master degrees from Assiut University in 2004 and 2010, followed by visitor research under prof. Kenneth Wärnmark in Lunds University at Sweden. He also received his Ph.D. degree from Nagasaki university in 2014, Japan. He then joined Chemistry Department at Assiut University, Egypt in 2014. In 2015, he chose as a member at Multidisciplinary Research Center of Excellence (MRCE) at Assiut University, Egypt, to work to develop a new class of non-viral vectors for siRNA delivery using polymer chemistry. In August 2020, he joined Department of Materials and Optoelectronic Science, National Sun Yat-Sen University of Sun Yat-sen University. The research interests focus on the development and execution of experiments aimed at the synthesis, self-assembly and modification of novel block copolymers and polypeptides. In addition, he developed new types of covalent organic frameworks (COF) that have a wide range of application for CO2 absorption and energy storage.

Kevin Chiou received his B.S. degree from Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, Case Western Reserve University (Ohio, USA) in 2014. In 2020, he received his Ph.D. degree from Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern University (Illinois, USA). His thesis is on the solution processing of carbon nanotubes titled ¡§Direct, Additive-free Processing of Carbon Nanotubes.¡¨ His current research focuses on processing methods for nanocomposite materials.

¥ú¹q¨t§õ¬¯¿ü(Hyeonseok Lee)±M¥ô§U²z±Ð±Â


Hyeonseok Lee (§õ¬¯¿ü, 이현석) received his B.S. and M.S. in the Department of Electrical Engineering from Myongji University, Republic of Korea, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. In 2014, he received his Ph. D. degree from Department of Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Mark W. Horn at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, USA. After finished Ph.D. program, he worked in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with Prof. Shien-Ping Feng at the University of Hong Kong, HK from 2015 to 2019 for post-doctoral program. He firstly joined to National Sun Yat-sen University in 2019 as a nontenure track faculty member. Dr. Lee has been newly appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Photonics in 2020. His research is focused on light energy conversion by solar cells and photocatalytic systems. He has expertise in thin film deposition & characterization, chemical and physical synthesis of nanostructure & nanoparticles, investigation of charge behaviors through bulk materials and at interfaces.
