How to get to
Kaohsiung,
Taiwan
There are a number of ways to
get to Kaohsiung City,
Taiwan.
Overseas delegates can either fly directly to Kaohsiung International
Airport (KIA;
http://www.kia.gov.tw/english/e_content/periodical.asp?line=1&radArrDep=2)
or fly to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA;
http://www.taoyuan-airport.com/english/flight_timetable/) first.
Then there are two options to come to Kaohsiung City: (1) to take a
transit flight from TTIA to KIA; (2) to take an airport shuttle bus to
Taoyuan station of Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC;
http://www.thsrc.com.tw/en/?lc=en) and then take a high speed train
from there to Zuoying station in Kaohsiung. Most
ground transportation access areas are located at the main entrance of
KIA terminal and Zuoying station. Ground
transportation includes Kaohsiung MRT (mass rapid transit;
http://www.krtco.com.tw/en/service/service-1.aspx) red line and a
number of city bus lines.
Of course, taxi service and car rentals are also available.
