初探蘇珊•史翠菊（Susan Strange, 1923-1998）的

國際政治經濟學思想

摘            要

    國際政治經濟學 (International Political Economy 簡稱IPE) 可說是西方國際關係研究自七○年代以來最重要的新發展之一， 其體系之龐雜、分支之繁多、影響之廣泛、內部歧見之明顯，也是國際關係研究其他分支學門所不及的。然而由於其為「新」，關於IPE的定義、研究範圍與議題、理論模式和研究方法等仍未有定論，這種差異情形尤其存在於歐洲與美國學者之間。
由於過去國內對於美國學者的IPE研究引介較多，本研究的主要目的即是介紹與評析英國已去世的IPE代表人物，蘇珊．史翠菊(1923-1998)教授的思想，包括其特有的IPE研究方法—折衷主義 (eclecticism)、其主張的核心概念—結構權力 (structural power)的實質內涵、以及對於主流國際體制(international regime)和霸權穩定理論 (Hegemonic Stability Theory) 的批判觀點等等。

Abstract

The Study of Susan Strange’s Thought on International Political Economy Since 1970s, the development of International Political Economy (IPE) has got more and more attention and has become one of main streams in the study of international relations. Compared with other subfields of political science, however, the IPE is more controversial about its definition、scope、research subject and approach. In particular, the argument obviously exists between American and European scholars.

      The main purpose of this study is to introduce and analyze the IPE thought of Susan Strange who was a famous British professor and just passed away in 1998.  This study will examine her special research methodology and her concept of structural power for studying the IPE. The research also will review Strange’s critical viewpoints on International Regime Theory and Hegemonic Stability Theory.
