Design of Globoidal Cam Pick and Place Devices

           In recent years, automatic manufacturing process is the trend of industry. In the automatic manufacturing equipment, air (or oil) cylinders are often used in synthesizing the mechanisms of parts assembly devices. But, the complication of such structure may deteriorates the positioning accuracy in high speed applications. Therefore, cam-based rotating pick-and-place mechanisms are considered to overcome this difficulty . In this paper, the synthesis and analysis of globoidal cam-based rotating pick-and-place mechanisms will be discussed. And, a design of such a phototype is proposed. The results can be utilized practically in the industry.
