Introduction to the Institute

Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies for Social Sciences was founded in July 1980 in Kaohsiung.  The Institute is an interdisciplinary graduate program of social sciences with the prospect and a strong potential for development.  We offer both master and doctoral degree.  The Institute consists of three divisions : Political Science (Division A), Economics (Division B), and Sociology (Division C).  Each division has its own independent Curriculum activities that enrich the Institute with specialties in various fields.  With Dr. Samuel C. Y. Ku as the current director, the institute is moving toward a global and integrated social science program. Our goals are to integrate teaching, academic research, and provide community services.

The institute has dedicated to provide related teaching and research support; there are more than 58,000 volumes of book collections and 120 periodical journals in social science. We also have our own computer lab, which provides facilities to meet the needs of teaching purpose.
