Retirement |
1. According rule: School Faculty Retirement Rules and its details 2. Content: A. Types: (1) Retirement Application (2) Prompt Retirement B. Conditions: (1) Retirement Application ● Working over 5 years and reach the age of 60. ● Working over 25 years. (2) Prompt Retirement: working over 5 years and with the following conditions: ● Reach the age of 60. ● Psychological or physical disabled and incapable of working. C. Pension: (1) Working between 5 ~12 years: one time pension (2) Working over 15 years, choose one from the following: ● One time pension ● Monthly pension ● 1/2 of the one time pension and 1/2 of the monthly pension ● 1/3 of the one time pension and 1/2 of the monthly pension ● 1/4 of the one time pension and 1/4 of the monthly pension D. Restrictions: Foreigners working as Taiwan R.O.C. public high school teacher or national universities and meet the criterion of retirement conditions are allowed to apply for a one time pension. |

Welfare |
1. Marriage subsidy: A. Date of Application: within 3 months after the wedding day B. Certificate enclosed: Marriage and household certificate C. Subsidy standard: 2 months salary D. Subsidy restrictions: cannot apply again if divorce the spouse and get married with the same one again. 2. Birth subsidy: A. Date of Application: within three months upon giving birth B. Certificate enclosed: Birth and household certificate C. Subsidy standard: 2 months salary D. Subside restrictions: ● Limit to applicant herself or applicant’s spouse ● Limit to apply once if husband and wife both are government employees ● Not applicable if miscarriage less than 5 months pregnancy. 3. Spouse funeral subsidy: A. Date of Application: within 3 months after the death B. Certificate enclosed: death and household certificate and household registration. C. Subsidy standard: ● Parents or spouse death: 5 months salary ● Children death: 3 months salary D. Going Abroad |
1. According rule: Government Employees and School Faculty Application for Going abroad Inspection Act 2. Procedures: A. Going to the website of Personnel leaves or business trips management information system at http://140.117.13.95/pemis/; fill up the form; print the application form of NSYSU faculty going abroad/ going to China area. B. Office chief approval C. Office of Academic Affairs approval (not for faculty) D. Office of Personnel approval E. President approval ( or authorization approval) 3. Notes: A. School teachers have responsibility for teaching during the semester. Going abroad should be in the summer or winter vacation. B. Teachers also as an administrator should get a substitute for their position by themselves. C. Application will be allowed for going abroad if it is done a week before departure date. |

Taking leaves ( including personal leave, sick leave, marriage leave, maternity leave, funeral leave, accompany leave, period leave, and before maternity leave) |
1. According rule: A. Government Employees Leave-taking Act B. Teachers Leave-taking Act 2. Procedures: A. Fill out the leave-taking form B. Substitute signature ( Teachers as an administrator who take leaves over 10 days during summer or winter vacation should get two substitutes who should make their time available for substitution which is up to 9 days at most.) C. Office chief approval D. Personnel office approval E. Office of academic affairs approval (except staff) F. President approval (or authorization approval) 3. Notes: A. The leave-taking form should be filled up while taking leaves. If it is approved, applicant can leave the office. If sickness or emergencies, leave-taking procedures should be done by colleagues or family. B. Leave-taking person should find a suitable substitute by themselves. C. If leaving office without asking leaves, without coming back after leaves is completed, or lying about leaves, the person will be treated as absence from work. D. Their disease cannot be healed in a short time. After approved by President, the leave can be prolonged to 24 months to one year at most. E. Marriage leave should be taken in the reasonable time according to practical reasons. If too much office work approved, the person can divide leaves into several times one month within wedding date. 4. Funeral leaves can be taken more than one time but should be taken within 100 days after the death date. |

Business Trip |
1. According rule: A. Domestic or International Business Trip Expenses Act B. NSYSU Faculty (including administrative assistants) Business Trip Notes. 2. Procedures: A. Fill out the application form. B. Substitute signature ( Teachers as an administrator who take leaves over 10 days during summer or winter vacation should get two substitutes who should make their time available for substitution which is up to 9 days at most.) C. Office chief approval D. Office of Academic Affairs approval (not for faculty) E. Office of Personnel approval F. President approval ( or authorization approval) 3. Notes: A. All NSYSU faculty on business trip should follow the Domestic or International Business Trip Expenses Act and complete the expense application procedures within 15 days after the trip is finished. Procedures will not be processed if overdue. B. Teachers as administrators who take leaves over 10 days during summer or winter vacation should get two substitutes who should make their time available for substitution which is up to 9 consecutive days at most. C. Business trip procedures should be done before the business trip. D. After coming back from business trip, the cancellation of trip expenses after verification should be done. |

Professors research leaves |
1. According rule: NSYSU Professors Research Leaves Act 2. Procedures: A. NSYSU official professors continually work for school over seven semesters. After school inspection and qualification, professors can apply for research leave for one semester; those who work over seven years can apply for research leave for one academic year or two semesters as separation of the research leave. B. The calculation of semesters: one is from Aug 1st that year till Jan 31st the next year and the other is from Feb 1st till July 31st. 3. Notes: According to the Act, those who want to apply for research leave should propose a project including the research location following the procedures, passed by the department, college teacher evaluation committee, inspected by the school teacher’s evaluation committee and it can be implemented. 4. Limited number of professors Professors on research leave cannot exceed the 15% of the number of the professors in the department. The number should be counted as one person if it is not. 5. Service Obligation: After professors’ research leave, professors should come back to school and work for the same period as the research leave. The academic research report should be proposed to the department or center within three months after professors’ returning to school. |

Teaching, researching, academic studying abroad |
1. According rule: NSYSU Teachers and Researchers Teaching, Researching, Academic Studying abroad Act 2. Application conditions: Professors or researchers who teaching abroad should be qualified assistant professors or assistant researchers. Teachers who research or study abroad should be qualified lecturers or research assistant within the system not over the age of 55 and should work continually at school at least two years. 3. Application procedures: Teachers teaching, researching or studying abroad should have appropriate teachers to teach their courses. While application, the admission form from foreign school should be enclosed with the approval of the personnel office, their own department, and college teacher evaluation committee. The list will be sent to personnel office and then inspected by the President within one week. 4. Limited number of professors Professors on teaching, researching, academic studying abroad leave cannot exceed the 1/10 of the number of the professors or researchers in the department at the same time. The number should be counted as 10 people if it is not. If special needs and teaching and researching not affected with special case permission, it will not be limited by this act. 5. Service obligation Before professors’ teaching, researching or studying leave, a contract should be signed with NSYSU to ensure that after professors’ teaching, researching or studying leave, professors should come back to school and work for the same period as the leave. Professors who are on the pay leave should work twice the time of the leave; otherwise, the pay received during the leave should be given back to NSYSU. |
