(一)教學目標:

「中國與亞太區域研究所」的設立,旨在培育廿一世紀領導國家發展、研究與處理兩岸關係與亞太區域事務之學術和專業人才。本所教學主軸為中國與亞太區域的政治發展、經濟發展,以及法律制度之基礎教學與學術研究,並從全球化、區域化和國際政經情勢之角度,分析台灣、中國與亞太區域國家之互動關係,以及各項重要議題的發展與演變。本所課程的設計,強調理論與實務並重,範圍涵蓋政治、經貿、社會、法律、國際關係、比較政治,以及區域研究等類別。本所分為「政治組」、「經貿組」,以及「法律組」等三組,各組學生除必修課程外,可依研究興趣與方向,選修其他組別之課程,以擴大學術理論及專業知識,並建立宏觀及整合性的學術知識涵養。

Teaching Objectives:

The ICAPS was established with the aim of cultivating outstanding academicians and professionals in the fields related to national developments in 21st century, cross-strait relations and Asia-Pacific affairs. The institute focuses on teaching fundamentals of the studies related to the political and economic development and legal system of Mainland China and Asia-Pacific region. Moreover, the courses attempts to provide an analysis of the interactions and evolution among Taiwanese, Chinese and Asia-Pacific nations from the perspective of globalization, regionalization, and international political economic trends.

The ICAPS’ courses emphasize theory and practice in the fields of politics, economy and trade, society, law, international relations, comparative politics, and area studies. The department is divided into three divisions: 1) political; 2) economic; and 3) legal division. In order to expand academic and professional interdisciplinary knowledge, students of each division are encouraged to select courses of other divisions, according to individual research interests.

(二)發展方向:

本所將積極與國內、外學術性機構進行學術交流,並推動與西方國家和中國著名院校的交流,簽訂相關議題的學術合作計畫,以及學術訊息之互動網絡,以提升本所學生之國際視野和專業知識。此外,本所亦將努力促進與亞太地區重點學校建立學術交流合作關係,提供本所學生定期從事田野研究之機會,且加強與亞太地區台商和民間非政府組織之互動與合作關係,以增加本所學生就業管道、訓練一流的專業研究人才,以及培養具有國際競爭力的國際觀。

Developmental Directions:

The ICAPS actively endeavors to develop academic connections with other domestic and international institutes. It promotes academic cooperation projects and academic exchange with Western and Chinese institutes in order to raise the students’ world view and their professional knowledge. In addition, the ICAPS is devoted to improving academic cooperation with top schools in Asia-Pacific studies so it can provide students an opportunity to conduct a field research and to enhance academic cooperation. Interaction with Taiwanese Businessmen and NGOs in Asia-Pacific region, additionally provides students an opportunity to increase their employment channels as well as cultivates them into and cultivating professional and internationally competitive talents.

(三)願景:

本所初期目標將著重於加強中國與亞太問題教學研究,使學生熟稔中國事務、兩岸關係、亞太地區政經發展等,使學生畢業之後能夠貢獻所學,成為國家有用之專業人才。中程目標將與亞太地區相關系所與研究單位建立交流合作網絡關係,除提升本所之國際能見度外,亦能進一步提供本所教師與學生研究資源與學術交流之機會。長程目標為發展成為臺灣南部地區研究中國與亞太區域之學術重鎮,除執行正規教學與研究任務外,並提供政府相關單位,對大陸事務、兩岸關係,以及亞太區域之專業人員的進修與培訓。

Prospects:

The primary goal of the ICAPS is to promote academic research in the field of Mainland China and Asia-Pacific studies and to cultivate an outstanding profile of students with an extensive knowledge of China affairs, cross-strait relations and political and economic development of the Asia-Pacific region. The medium-term goal is to set up an academic cooperation network in order to improve the ICAPS’ international academic reputation as well as to promote academic interaction and research resources for both students and professors. The long term goal is to become the major research center of Mainland China and Asia-Pacific studies in the southern Taiwan, providing academic training and research for both academic circles as well as for the relevant government institutions.

(四)畢業生出路:

依個人志趣與研究方向,本所畢業生之畢業出路十分多元:

  1. 金融:畢業生可進入銀行、證券等相關金融機構,從事研究、
    ______管理等相關行政或研究工作。
  2. 教育:畢業生可利用在學期間修讀教育學程,進入高國中、
    ______小學擔任教職。
  3. 公職:畢業生可參加高普考、特考等相關考試,進入政府單
    ______位或財團法人基金會等相關機構任職。
  4. 企業:畢業生可進入民間企業任職,從事研究、管理等相關
    ______行政或研究工作。
  5. 升學:畢業生對學術有興趣者,可續於國內、外相關研究所
    ______深造。
  6. 其他:畢業生可進入國科會、中研院、中經院等學術機構,
    ______亦可進入非政府組織、政黨等相關社會團體,擔任行
    ______政助理或研究員等工作。
