The Department

The Department of Physics at National Sun Yat-sen University offers undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and enrolls around 200 undergraduate and 90 graduate students annually.

The department presently has over 20 regular and supporting faculty members of diverse specializations. The areas of research include: 

• Electro-optics and Spectroscopy Physics
• Low Temperature and Material Physics
• Semiconductor Physics
• Condensed Matter and Computational Physics

Most of the department's research activities are carried out in the laboratories at the Physics building. Other facilities includes Condensed Matter Physics lab, Physics library, and Computer lab. All of these are well equipped and well maintained to provide the best service for teaching and research purposes.
