Transportation
Transportation in Taiwan is convenient, efficient, and relatively inexpensive. There are many different ways of getting around in Kaohsiung and exploring the rest of the island.
Motorcycles are the most common transportation. The Bus is also a convenient commuting tool, and the fare fee for the regular bus is NT$12. The bus stop is right in front of the university entrance. The Airport Shuttle runs to and from the Railway Station and the Kaohsiung Airport every 15 minutes. Students can take the Airport Shuttle and transfer to Bus no. 248 to the University or take KRTC from Kaohsiung International Airport (R4) to the Sizihwan Station (O1).
How to reach NSYSU?
- From Airport: after arriving at the Kaohsiung International Airport, students can take the Airport Shuttle from the Kaohsiung International Airport to the Railway Station, and transfer to bus no.248 to the university or take KRTC from Kaohsiung International Airport (R4) to Formosa Boulevard Station (O5/R10) by the Red line and transfer to the Orange line to Sizihwan Station (O1).
- From Kaohsiung railway station: Bus no. 248 which can be taken at the railway station runs to and from the railway station and the university or you could take KRTC from Kaohsiung Main Station to Formosa Boulevard Station (O5/R10) by the Red Line, and transfer to the Orange Line to Sizihwan Station (O1). After arriving at Sizihwan Station (O1), students can take the transit bus directly to campus administration building.
- From Taiwan High Speed Rail station: after arriving at Zuoying Station, students can take the "High Speed Rail Gushang" transit bus directly to campus administration building. (Hsitzu Bay)
- A taxi ride from the airport to the university takes 30 to 40 minutes and usually costs approximately NT$500.
